Amateur Radio Technician License Class 2018

Free Training – The only cost is materials & test fee.
Presented by Seneca Radio Club W8ID
To be held at the Public Safety Building at the Seneca County Fair Grounds
Starting January 10, 2018 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm
The class will be 12 weeks, meeting one night each week.

Seneca Radio Club will be offering an introductory Technician License class this January. Classes will run on Wednesday evenings beginning January 10th and end with the License Exam on March 28th. Classes normally run from 6:30 PM till 9:00 or 9:30 PM.
We use the ARRL materials for the class, available from ARRL.org and other sources. The ARRL materials we typically use in class including a PowerPoint presentation (which matches the manual) as our lecture basis. We will provide “color commentary” with the slideshow, hands-on experience and demonstrations, and discussions with a number of local hams with extensive experience in various aspects of Amateur Radio.
Although there is no charge for the instruction, students are expected to provide their own study guides, and there is a nominal fee required for the licensing exam at the end. The ARRL does offer other training materials as well. These can enhance your learning but are not required. If you are interested, please Email Dan AC8NP at W8ID@W8ID. We look forward to seeing you this January
All of us are excited about the opportunity to present another class in Seneca County and our response to the initial class was just super. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy Amateur Radio, from contesting to using our local repeaters, HF DX’ing, digital and data modes, amateur television and of course Morse code or CW as we call it. Amateur Radio works when all else fails.
Hams are all about helping each other and we’d love to have you with us in January. More information is available on the Seneca Radio Club Website http://w8id.org

Course books will be about $25.00 and the FCC test is $15.00
